Lace wedding dresses are always an extremely popular choice with brides; royal and celebrity ones included.
Whether you fall in love with a dress created from pure lace fabric, lace appliques on illusion netting or lace detailing; you are guaranteed an elegant wedding gown that will look utterly beautiful on the day and photograph wonderfully.
When it comes to headpiece choice for a lace wedding dress you have essentially have three options;
- Dainty hairvine that offers the same trailing and airy feel as the lace pattern
- Lace headpiece that echoes the lace of your dress and links you to your gown
- Traditional tiara style that reflects the sumptuous nature of lace
Here four of my real brides share their fabulous wedding day looks and show how they each perfectly accessorized their exquisite lace wedding dresses....
Dress: Lace embellished, chiffon overlay bridal gown called ‘Violet’ came from Wedding World in Shrewsbury. With an elegant fabric bow belt detail she looked every inch a princess in her gorgeous ball gown wedding dress.
Hair: Briony wore her long chestnut hair half up with tumbling curls and was looking for a bridal headpiece to tuck into the back of her hair that would also accommodate a veil for the ceremony.
Hair Accessories: The Lianne Hair Vine on its small comb looked stunning and was the obvious choice for her when she tried it on; a perfect match to the pretty sprigs and oval floral shapes in the lace embellishment of her dress. Briony added a dainty Mia Pin to widen the effect of the beautiful bridal hair vine; her veil comb simply tucking in behind.
Jewellery: With such a beautiful lace embellished wedding dress Briony needed only minimal dainty wedding jewellery to complete her special day look. She added a delicate Anya Bracelet to finish her bare arms and a pair of matching Anya Earrings to frame her face.Lianne Bridal Hairvine Mia Pearl Pin Anya Bracelet Anya Earrings
Dress: Stunning halter neck Guipure lace dress with plunge back and kick train.
Hair: Naomi wore her long blonde hair down in loose curls with a delicate braid to lift the hair away from her face.
Headpiece: Naomi had set her heart on having a tapered vertical hair vine with loose fronds. The pretty clusters of delicate seed pearls and a sprinkling of rice pearls emphasised the flowing design of the Naomi Hairvine that I named after her.Naomi Pearl Hair Vine
Dress: Lucy's beautiful gown had a blush satin skirt with an elegant ivory lace overlay.
Hair: She wore her long hair in a pinned curl up-do and wanted a headpiece that would easily be fixed to one side at the front of her head.
Headpiece: Lucy fell in love with the Esme Hairvine; the lace pattern echoing that of her dress.
Three small clusters of delicate blush Swarovski crystals were added to the embellishment to link in with colour of her dress underskirt.
As Lucy chose not to wear a veil, she created a dainty focal point on the back of her head with a pair of Mia Pins.
Jewellery: Lucy’s stunning wedding dress and Esme Hairvine only needed minimal accessories to complete her special day look. She chose a delicate pair of Anya Earrings to frame her face and a matching Anya Pendant to fill in her neckline.
The top crystals in these bridal jewellery designs were changed to a blush coloured ones to link in with her dress and headpiece.Esme Lace Bridal Hairvine Mia Pins Anya Earrings Anya Pendant Necklace
